Seven regions across mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar are poised to gain from the Beach Volleyball Workshop Tour, a collaborative initiative by Tanzania’s Faru Sports Foundation and Germany’s Sand Für Alle Institute.
Daniel Davis, Head of Communications at Faru Sports Foundation, told The Respondent Online that the tour will cover Kagera, Mwanza, Simiyu, Kilimanjaro, Tanga, Zanzibar, and Dar es Salaam.
“So far, the tour has already reached Kagera, Mwanza, and Meatu in Simiyu, with preparations underway for the next stop in Moshi, Kilimanjaro,” Davis said.
He explained that the Beach Volleyball Workshop Tour 2025 aims to promote and develop beach volleyball among youth and the wider community.
“The tour provides professional training, competitive events, and opportunities for social interaction, while encouraging the optimal use of beaches and open spaces for sports development,” he added.
Davis further emphasized that the initiative seeks to expand participation in beach volleyball nationwide, enable children and young people to learn and compete, strengthen social cohesion through sports, and establish a sustainable foundation for the growth of the game in different regions.
