Malawi delegation explores opportunities at Geita Gold Fair

A high-level delegation from Malawi visited the Mining Commission Pavilion at the ongoing Geita Gold Fair, held at Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan Grounds in Bombambili, Geita.

The delegation toured the pavilion to learn about investment and growth opportunities in Tanzania’s mineral sector.

 Senior officials from the Mining Commission guided the visitors, providing insights into mineral exploration, mining operations, processing, and value addition initiatives across the country.

During the visit, the Malawian team commended the Mining Commission for its effective management of Tanzania’s mineral sector.

 They highlighted the Commission’s role in strengthening mineral markets, promoting value addition, and supporting small and medium-scale miners. 

They also praised Tanzania’s efforts to create a favorable environment for investment while promoting sustainable growth.

Officials from the Mining Commission stressed the importance of regional cooperation in developing the mineral industry, noting its potential to boost national economies and generate employment.

The Geita Gold Fair, running from September 18 to 28, 2025, brings together government agencies, private sector players, and development partners to showcase innovations, share experiences, and strengthen collaboration in the mineral sector.
