Residents of Lindi Region have seen significant improvements in infrastructure and public services under President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, with projects in education, health, water, roads, and economic empowerment improving everyday life.

Speaking on Saturday, September 13, 2025, during the launch of Chama cha Mapinduzi (CCM) campaigns for Lindi Region and Ruangwa District at Likangala Primary School in Ruangwa, Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa said the projects have had a real impact on local communities.

“From new schools and health facilities to better roads and water access, President Samia’s development projects are touching every part of daily life in Lindi,” Majaliwa said.

He added that ongoing and upcoming projects will boost the region’s economy and improve livelihoods.

Key projects in the region include gas development initiatives, the Kilwa fishing port, the reconstruction of the Kibiti-Lindi road, the Southern Railway line, and connecting Lindi to the national power grid. These projects aim to link the region more closely to national economic growth.

During the event, Majaliwa also endorsed CCM parliamentary candidate for Ruangwa Constituency, Kasper Mmuya, describing him as hardworking and capable of continuing development work in the area.

Mmuya promised to work with residents to advance projects in education, health, and economic empowerment.

Other parliamentary candidates present included Salma Kikwete (Mchinga), Nape Nnauye (Mtama), Kinjekitile Ngombale (Kilwa North), Asnen Dewji (Kilwa South), Mohamed Utali (Lindi Town), Fadhili Liwaka (Nachingwea), and Msham Munde (Liwale).

Residents say these projects have improved basic services and created opportunities for local businesses and employment, showing how targeted development can transform regional economies.
