Young Africans SC (Yanga) of Tanzania lifted the Rayon Sport Day trophy after defeating Rwanda’s Rayon Sport 3–1 in an international friendly played today in Kigali.

The hosts stunned Yanga early when, in the second minute, Aziz Andambwile inadvertently turned the ball into his own net.

Both teams then tightened their defenses, battling for control without conceding for the next 26 minutes.

Yanga equalized in the 28th minute through Andy Boyeli, shifting the momentum in their favour. As halftime approached, Pacome Zouzoua struck in the 45th minute to give the visitors a 2–1 lead at the break.

The second half was a tense affair, with Rayon Sport pressing for an equalizer and Yanga holding firm at the back. In stoppage time, Bakari Mwanyeto sealed the win in the 90+4 minute with a composed finish.

The win not only handed Yanga the Rayon Sport Day title but also provided a confidence boost as they prepare for the 2025/26 season, which kicks off in September.
