Morocco targets perfect group stage finish

After guiding his side to a hard-fought 2–1 victory, Tanzania head coach Hemed Seleiman, popularly known as Morocco, has set his sights on closing out the group stage with a flawless record. His goal: to finish Group B with a maximum 12 points.

The Taifa Stars will face the Central African Republic in their final group-stage clash on August 16, 2025, at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

Speaking to reporters after the August 9 win over Madagascar, Morocco said his squad will refocus immediately to ensure they secure all three points in their last group fixture.

“Although we’ve already secured qualification to the quarter-finals, our mission is clear  to win every single group match,” he stated with confidence.

The coach praised his players for their discipline, execution, and determination in a match he described as tactically demanding.

He noted that Madagascar’s pace and reliance on long balls posed a challenge, but his team’s organization in both defense and attack proved decisive.

“Discipline in defense and attack was the key to today’s win. We stuck to the plan and got the result we wanted,” Morocco explained.

He also called on Tanzanian fans to keep faith with the team, assuring them that the players are committed to pushing deep into the tournament.

Man of the match Clement Mzize credited his performance to the guidance of the coach, adding that with continued hard work and unity, the team can achieve even greater heights.
