The National Volleyball League (TVNL) is gaining remarkable momentum as teams continue to demonstrate their strength and determination in the ongoing matches held at MwembeYanga grounds.

Korosho Queens sustained their impressive form with a commanding 3-0 victory over Natorious. Meanwhile, KIUT caused an upset by defeating the defending champions Tanzania Prisons decisively, also with a 3-0 scoreline. JKT, on the other hand, succumbed to a straight-sets loss (3-0) against Bandari.

In the men's division, KIUT asserted their superiority by overpowering Arusha Champion with a 3-0 win. Conversely, Nyika suffered a heavy defeat, losing 3-0 to the formidable High Voltage team.

Other notable results include Kigoma Port falling 3-0 to JKT, while Best Six were edged out 3-1 by IP Sports in a closely contested match.

Speaking after the games, team managers and coaches reflected on their performances and shared their ambitions for the remainder of the season.

Hussein Kibombwe, manager of Korosho Queens, emphasized their determination to finish the first round undefeated.

“Our goal is to secure strong results early on to position ourselves favorably for the knockout stages and ultimately reach the finals,” he said.

He added, “We are fully focused on maximizing points in this initial phase, knowing the competition will intensify. Preparation and consistency are key.”

Alfred Selengia, head coach of Arusha Champion, acknowledged that a shortage of players contributed to their loss.

“The lack of available players significantly impacted our performance today. We will return to training with renewed focus and a strategy to improve our results in the upcoming fixtures,” he stated.

As the TVNL season advances, volleyball fans can look forward to more exciting and fiercely contested matches as teams vie for top honors.
