The President of the Tanzania Boxing Federation (BFT) is set to officiate the closing ceremony of a basic coaching and refereeing course tomorrow, July 10, 2025, at the CCM Hall in Manzese Ward, Dar es Salaam.
Speaking on Tuesday, BFT Secretary General Makore Mashaga said the training program, which began on June 30, has benefited 23 participants 18 aspiring boxing coaches and five referees.
“This program has equipped the participants with essential knowledge and practical skills. Those who successfully complete the training will be awarded certificates of attendance and official IDs, qualifying them to begin working confidently and professionally in the sport,” said Mashaga.
He noted that the course is part of BFT’s broader strategy to enhance the quality of boxing in the country by building technical capacity at the grassroots level.
The training sessions were conducted by seasoned instructors, including Mugeni Changalawe, Robert Suluhu, and Samwel Kapungu well-respected figures in Tanzanian boxing circles.
Mashaga emphasized the importance of such initiatives in laying a strong foundation for the future of boxing, especially in nurturing local talent and improving officiating standards nationwide.
