Nzega District Commissioner, Naitapwaki Tukai, has paid electricity connection fees for elderly and disabled residents in Nzogolo Village, Nzega Ndogo Ward, as part of the ongoing Rural Energy Agency (REA) campaign.
The campaign, taking place in the Tabora Region, aims to educate the public and encourage rural communities to connect their homes to electricity provided through government initiatives.
During the event, Tukai thanked President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan for extending electricity access to rural areas and sub-villages.
She emphasized the importance of taking advantage of this opportunity and pledged to cover the connection costs for two elderly individuals and one mother in the community.
Tukai urged residents to utilize electricity for income-generating activities to improve their livelihoods while stressing the need to protect electricity infrastructure.
REA Project Supervisor for Tabora Region, Mr. Oscar Migani, highlighted that the government has invested over TZS 53.97 billion in rural energy projects in Nzega District.
Adding to the initiative, Nzega Urban MP and Minister of Agriculture, Hussein Bashe, announced that he would pay connection fees for ten additional residents in the ward to further promote development in the area.
