The Samatta Clean Energy Cup, set to take place this March in Dar es Salaam, is calling on men’s and women’s teams to seize the opportunity to register and participate in the second edition of this exciting tournament.

Registration is currently open and will close on January 30, 2025.

Speaking to The Respondent Online, Samatta Foundation Executive Director Hasbuna Habibu confirmed that a total of 45 teams—35 men's teams and 10 women's teams—will compete in this year’s event.

“We have opened registration, and by January 30, we will finalize the process.

This will allow us to prepare adequately, including holding meetings with team leaders, drafting tournament regulations, and forming the organizing committee,” said Habibu.

The second season of the tournament marks significant improvements, including a partnership with Regional Commissioner Albart Chalamila.

The collaboration aims to raise awareness about clean energy through sports while promoting gender equality by encouraging increased participation from women’s teams.

The Samatta Clean Energy Cup continues to grow as a platform for fostering environmental awareness and inclusivity through the unifying power of sports.
