Absa Bank Tanzania has invested significantly in its digital banking services to align with the government’s goal of expanding financial services to more Tanzanians.
The initiative supports President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s vision of making banking services accessible and affordable to all citizens.
The announcement was made by the bank’s Head of Retail Banking, Ms. Ndabu Lilian Swere, during the first draw of the ongoing “Spend & Win” campaign.
The campaign encourages customers and the public to perform transactions using debit cards or digital banking platforms.
“This three-month campaign is designed to reward customers who use our ATM cards or digital banking services. These platforms enable customers to complete transactions quickly and easily, helping them achieve their financial goals,” Ms. Swere explained.
“As Absa Bank Tanzania, we are enhancing our digital services to complement the government’s efforts in extending financial access to underserved populations. At the same time, we continue supporting traditional banking systems,” she added.
Ms. Swere assured customers that the bank’s digital platforms are safe and secure: “Our systems meet international security standards, so customers can use them with confidence, knowing their transactions are fully protected.”
The bank’s Head of Marketing and Communications, Mr. Aron Luhanga, emphasized that the Spend & Win campaign aligns with Absa’s mission of empowering Africa and building a better future for Tanzania.
He noted that the initiative reflects the bank’s brand promise, “Your story matters.”
“As we reward our customers and enhance our digital services, we believe we are helping write their success stories. At the same time, we are supporting the government’s vision of making financial services available to more Tanzanians, no matter where they live,” Mr. Luhanga said.
The Spend & Win campaign will run for three months, with a brand-new Subaru Forester worth over TZS 40 million awarded to one winner each month.
Customers qualify for the draw by performing regular transactions using Absa cards or digital platforms.
In the first draw, held yesterday, Rashidi Nassoro Saidi from Dar es Salaam emerged as the winner, driving home a new Subaru Forester.
The campaign aims to incentivize customers to embrace digital banking while contributing to financial inclusion efforts across Tanzania.
