Simba have maintained their 100 percent start of the Premier League season after silencing Azam 2-0 at New Amaan Sports Complex in Zanzibar on Thursday.
Leonel Ateba and Fabrice Ngoma scored in each half of the match to award their side a sweet away win and grab a maximum of three points.
It was Smba's third straight win of the campaign and have generated 9 points which is a convincing run for them as they target to lift high the league title at the end of the marathon.
Interestingly, the Reds have also scored 9 goals from the played games and are yet to concede a goal literally meaning they have a solid defence that is working hard to avoid conceding goals.
As it stands, Simba are now third on the table with 9 points from three games, just 3 points behind leaders Singida Black Stars who have picked 12 points from 4 games.
For Azam, their unbeaten status has finally hit the rock as before the match, they played four matches without suffering defeat as they cherished two wins and two draws.
Also, it was an upset for Azam's new coach Rachid Taoussi who has felt the sour part of the league after enjoying two wins and one draw at the helm of the club.
The Ice Cream makers side are occupying fourth place on the log with 8 points from five matches and their next game will be against Mashujaa at Lake Tanganyika Stadium in Kigoma on Sunday.
