Tanzania’s gold indicative price has been set at TZS318,292.67 per gram, according to mineral prices published by the Mining Commission on Thursday.
The commission’s latest figures, dated October 8, 2026, show the world market price for gold at $4,156 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS353,658.52 per gram.
The mineral market price has been set at TZS318,292.67 per gram, while the buying centre price stands at TZS311,219.49 per gram.
The figures provide a reference for transactions involving the precious metal in Tanzania, with the different prices reflecting stages between the international market and local buying centres.
The commission also published indicative prices for silver and copper, two other minerals traded in the domestic and international markets.
Silver’s world market price was set at $60.20 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS5,122.77 per gram. Its mineral market price stood at TZS4,610.50 per gram, while the buying centre price was TZS4,508.04 per gram.
For copper, the world market price was listed at $6.73 per pound, equivalent to TZS39.25 per gram. The mineral market price stood at TZS35.33 per gram, while the buying centre price was TZS34.54 per gram.
The Mining Commission publishes indicative mineral prices as a reference for mineral traders and other players in the sector.
The latest figures come as Tanzania continues to seek greater value from its mineral resources, with gold remaining one of the country’s key sources of foreign exchange and government revenue.
