Mbarali District Council Executive Director Raymond Mweli has attended the foundation stone-laying ceremony for the 28 Towns Water Project at Igomelo in Mbarali District, Mbeya Region, as the Government steps up efforts to improve access to clean and safe water.
Vice President Deogratius Ndejembi laid the foundation stone on October 17, 2026, marking a key step in the implementation of the water project.
The initiative forms part of the Government’s efforts to bring reliable water services closer to communities, reduce the burden of fetching water, particularly on women, and improve living conditions for residents.
Improved access to safe water is expected to ease the daily challenges faced by households that travel long distances in search of the essential resource.
The project also reflects ongoing government efforts to expand water infrastructure and ensure more Tanzanians have access to clean and safe water near their homes.
