community benefactor in Manyara Region has been praised for supporting vulnerable groups and investing in grassroots development, with local leaders urging more people to contribute to improving livelihoods.
Manyara CCM Regional Chairperson Peter Toima commended Taiko Kulunju Ole Tipa for his continued assistance to individuals and community groups, saying his contributions demonstrated how local initiatives could complement broader development efforts.
Toima made the remarks during a graduation ceremony at Emboreet Secondary School in Simanjiro District, attended by Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation James Ole Millya, who is also the area’s Member of Parliament.
He described Taiko as a visionary young man whose support had benefited people in his surrounding community, urging residents to recognise and encourage such initiatives.
“Taiko has been contributing to the development of different groups of people. I commend him and encourage him to maintain the same spirit of supporting the community,” Toima said.
Loiborsiret Ward Councillor Ezekiel Lesenga, popularly known as Maridadi, said Taiko had consistently responded to community needs, supporting individuals and organised groups.
He cited assistance to women’s groups, including the provision of grain-milling and dehulling machines, which can help improve access to processing services and create opportunities for income generation.
The support, he said, reflected the role community-level initiatives can play in addressing practical economic needs, particularly among groups seeking to strengthen their livelihoods.
Komolo Ward Councillor Saning'o Somii also urged residents to support Taiko, arguing that community development contributions should be recognised regardless of whether those involved seek political office.
Somii compared Taiko’s efforts with those of Noah Mambush Simbaa, a resident of his ward who has built a local government office and teachers’ houses.
“Taiko deserves support because he helps the community without seeking to contest for any position,” Somii said.
Ole Millya also commended Taiko for his generosity and contribution to community welfare.
The deputy minister recalled that during one of his visits to Loiborsiret Ward, he had stayed at Taiko’s family homestead, describing the experience as an example of the hospitality extended to visitors.
The commendations highlight the contribution of individual benefactors to local development, particularly through support for community groups and initiatives aimed at improving access to resources and economic opportunities.
