The Weights and Measures Agency (WMA) has joined religious leaders, government officials and residents in Tanga to pray for the late Hafidh Ameir Hassan, the spouse of President Samia Suluhu Hassan.
WMA Tanga Regional Manager Julius Temba represented Chief Executive Officer Alban Mark Kihulla at a special prayer organised by Sharriff Haidar Waqf in memory of Mr Hassan, who died on September 7, 2026.
The prayer brought together religious leaders, government officials and members of the public to mourn Mr Hassan and offer prayers for his family.
Speaking on behalf of the WMA chief executive, Mr Temba conveyed condolences to President Samia and the entire family, praying for comfort and strength during the mourning period.
He also prayed for God to grant the late Mr Hassan eternal rest.
The gathering in Tanga was part of continued efforts by various groups to stand with the President and her family following the death.
