TAREX takes Tanzania property investment opportunities to Dubai

Tanzania is seeking to attract more international capital into its real estate sector through a new investment push targeting global property developers, financiers and investors.

The initiative is being spearheaded by the Tanzania Real Estate Expo (TAREX), whose founder, Murtaza Ebrahim, has held discussions with business and investment stakeholders in Dubai on opportunities available in Tanzania’s property market.

The talks focused on identifying areas for strategic cooperation, attracting international companies and investors, and strengthening links between Tanzania’s real estate industry and global markets.

Ebrahim, who is also the chief executive of Imperial Marketing & Communication, said on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 that TAREX was being positioned as an investment platform rather than simply a property exhibition.

“We want to build a platform that connects investors, developers, financial institutions, government and international stakeholders with the opportunities available in Tanzania,” he said.

According to Mr Ebrahim, the initiative seeks to facilitate the flow of capital, expertise, technology and international business networks into Tanzania’s property sector.

“Tanzania has opportunities, while the world has capital, expertise and networks. TAREX is building a bridge between the two,” he said.

The Dubai engagement comes as Tanzania continues to seek greater participation of private and international investors in sectors that can support urban development, job creation and broader economic growth.

By bringing investors, property developers, financial institutions, government agencies and international stakeholders onto one platform, TAREX aims to create opportunities for partnerships and investment deals across the real estate value chain.

The expo is scheduled to take place in Dar es Salaam from November 20 to 22, 2026.

The three-day event is expected to provide a platform for stakeholders to showcase investment opportunities, explore financing options and establish partnerships aimed at expanding Tanzania’s real estate market.
