Tanzania has formally taken over hosting responsibilities for the 74th Miss World competition, which is scheduled to be held in the country in 2027.
Deputy Minister for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports Hamis Mwinjuma received the Miss World flag on September 5, 2026, in Vietnam during the 2026 edition of the global pageant.
The handover of the flag marked the official transfer of hosting responsibilities to Tanzania, setting the stage for preparations for next year’s international event.
The hosting is expected to give Tanzania a major platform to showcase its tourism attractions, culture, hospitality and creative industries to a global audience.
It is also expected to bring international contestants, officials, media and visitors to the country, creating opportunities for the tourism and events sectors while raising Tanzania’s profile as a destination for major international events.
The 2027 contest will be the 74th edition of Miss World, one of the world’s longest-running international beauty pageants.
