Residents and businesses in Kahama can now access in-person support for mobile, internet and digital financial services following the opening of a new Yas Tanzania shop in the municipality.
The facility provides customers with assistance on mobile lines, internet connections, devices and financial transactions through Mixx, giving users a physical point where they can resolve service-related issues.
For traders and other businesses that increasingly depend on mobile phones and digital services to communicate with customers and conduct transactions, the new outlet is expected to make access to support more convenient.
Speaking at the opening, Kahama Municipal Mayor Mataluma Kaniki said the investment comes at a time when mining, agriculture and trade are expanding in the area.
“When we attract investments like this, the benefits go beyond the services offered. They also create jobs, support nearby businesses and contribute to our municipality’s economy,” he said.
Yas Tanzania Director of Customer Experience and Operations Mwangaza Matotola said the company opened the shop to bring its services and customer support closer to customers in Kahama.
She said the new outlet is part of Yas’s nationwide retail network, which now has more than 557 shops providing support on mobile lines, internet services, devices and financial services.
Ms Matotola said Yas has invested more than TZS1.2 trillion in infrastructure and services across Tanzania.
The company has more than 4,900 towers supporting 4G and 5G services and serves more than 33.2 million customers across mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar, she said.
The expansion comes as demand for mobile connectivity and digital financial services continues to grow, increasing the need for customers to access both digital platforms and physical support points.
