Moshi. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism’s teams have made a winning start to the 2026 SHIMIWI Games, with the men’s and women’s Kamba sides both securing 2-0 victories in their opening matches.
The men’s Kamba team was awarded a 2-0 victory after RAS Tabora failed to turn up for their scheduled match, giving the Natural Resources team an early advantage in the competition.
The ministry’s women’s Kamba team also registered a 2-0 victory, defeating the Investment team in a match played at the College of Cooperative and Business Education grounds in Moshi.
The results put the Natural Resources teams in a strong position as competition intensifies in the annual inter-government sports event.
Attention now turns to the ministry’s women’s netball team, which is scheduled to face the Justice team in its next match at the College of Cooperative and Business Education grounds.
The SHIMIWI Games bring together teams from government ministries, departments and institutions to compete in various sporting disciplines.
