The Mining Commission has set the indicative buying-centre price for gold at TZS330,457.79 per gram for September 14, 2026, with the global gold price standing at $4,405.40 per troy ounce.
The commission’s latest indicative prices put gold’s world market value at TZS375,520.21 per gram, while the domestic mineral market price has been set at TZS337,968.19 per gram.
The prices provide a reference for miners, traders and buyers conducting mineral transactions through Tanzania’s formal trading system, with different benchmarks applying to the world market, domestic mineral markets and buying centres.
For silver, the world market price was set at $64.62 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS5,508.27 per gram.
The mineral market price stands at TZS4,957.44 per gram, while the buying-centre price is TZS4,847.27 per gram.
Copper was quoted at $6.47 per pound, translating to TZS37.82 per gram at the world market level. Its mineral market price was set at TZS34.04 per gram, while the buying-centre price stands at TZS33.28 per gram.
The latest figures come as Tanzania continues to strengthen formal mineral trading and improve transparency in the sector.
The indicative prices give participants a benchmark against which mineral transactions can be assessed.
For gold producers, the buying-centre benchmark of TZS330,457.79 per gram is the key figure at the point of sale, while the higher world and mineral market values reflect other stages of the pricing chain.
