Tanzania’s Mining Commission has released new indicative mineral prices for September 26, 2026, with gold quoted at more than TZS367,000 per gram on the world market, while silver and copper were priced significantly lower.
According to the commission’s latest price bulletin, the world market price for gold stood at USD4,301.20 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS367,759.62 per gram.
The commission placed the indicative mineral market price for gold at TZS330,983.66 per gram, while the buying centre price was TZS323,628.46 per gram.
The figures provide reference prices for mineral transactions and come amid continued attention to the value of Tanzania’s mineral resources and the prices received by miners and traders.
For silver, the world market price was USD65.02 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS5,559.32 per gram.
The indicative mineral market price for silver was set at TZS5,003.38 per gram, while the buying centre price stood at TZS4,892.20 per gram.
Copper was quoted at USD6.70 per pound on the world market, equivalent to TZS39.28 per gram.
The commission’s indicative mineral market price for copper was TZS35.35 per gram, with the buying centre price set at TZS34.57 per gram.
The difference between the world market, mineral market and buying centre prices reflects the various reference levels used in mineral trading.
The Mining Commission regularly publishes indicative prices for minerals to guide transactions and provide market reference points for producers, traders and other players in the mining sector.
The latest figures show that gold continues to command a substantially higher value per gram than silver and copper, highlighting the different market values of the three minerals.
