Dar es Salaam is set to host a major international energy and solar exhibition next month, bringing together more than 160 exhibitors as Tanzania seeks to attract investment and expand access to modern energy technologies.

The 10th Power & Energy Tanzania 2026 and SolarExpo Tanzania 2026 will be held from October 7 to 9 at the Diamond Jubilee Exhibition and Convention Centre.

Deputy Minister for Energy Salome Wycliffe Makamba is expected to officially open the three-day event, which will bring together manufacturers, technology providers, investors and energy specialists from Tanzania and abroad.

Organisers said exhibitors from more than 25 countries, including China, India, Kenya, Thailand, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt, are expected to showcase technologies for electricity generation, renewable energy and solar power.

The exhibitions are expected to create a platform for local businesses and investors to identify new technologies, establish commercial partnerships and explore opportunities in the country's growing energy market.

The event comes as Tanzania continues to invest in expanding electricity infrastructure, including the national grid, rural electrification and off-grid solutions, particularly solar power.

The organisers said the exhibitions will also bring together electricity distributors, independent power producers, contractors, solar specialists, government agencies, regulators, development partners and investors from Tanzania and neighbouring countries.

The event is supported by institutions including the Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TanTrade), Tanzania Energy Association (TEA), NCD and the Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA).

For consumers and businesses, increased investment in solar and other renewable energy technologies could widen access to alternative power solutions while creating opportunities for local enterprises involved in installation, distribution and maintenance.

Business visitors will be admitted free of charge.
