ACT-Wazalendo has postponed a tour of Pemba by the party’s Zanzibar Deputy Secretary-General, Omar Ali Shehe, citing unavoidable circumstances.
Shehe was scheduled to continue the tour in Wete on Sunday, September 13, after starting the programme in Micheweni on Saturday.
The original itinerary also included meetings in Mkoani on Monday, September 14, and Chake Chake on Tuesday, September 15.
The party’s Pemba coordination office said a new schedule would be announced after arrangements for the postponed activities were finalised.
It urged party leaders, members and supporters in Wete, Mkoani and Chake Chake to continue with their activities as usual while waiting for further communication.
“The meetings and other activities will resume soon, and a new schedule will be issued and officially announced,” the office said in a statement.
The party apologised for any inconvenience caused by the postponement and advised members and supporters to follow its official communication channels for updates.
No further details were provided on the circumstances that led to the postponement.
