DODOMA, Tanzania - Minister of State in the President’s Office for Public Service Management and Good Governance, Ridhiwani Kikwete, has received a delegation from the Government of Somalia seeking to learn from Tanzania’s public service management systems.
Kikwete received the delegation on August 28, 2026, at the ministry’s offices in Government City, Mtumba, Dodoma. The delegation was led by Somalia’s Minister of State in the Office of the Prime Minister responsible for Public Service Affairs, Hirsi J. Ganni.
Kikwete said the visit would give Somali officials an opportunity to learn how Tanzania has developed its public service systems and addressed challenges affecting public servants.
He said the visit also reflected growing recognition of Tanzania’s public service management practices beyond its borders, describing it as an achievement of the Sixth Phase Government under President Samia Suluhu Hassan.
During the visit, the Somali delegation is also expected to engage with the Prime Minister’s Office on areas including relations between government and citizens, employment and labour management, workplace safety and pension systems.
Kikwete said the exchange would help strengthen bilateral cooperation between Tanzania and Somalia, particularly in public service management and good governance.
