Zanzibar-based Turkys Group of Companies is using the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (Sabasaba) to showcase its growing portfolio of businesses, ranging from manufacturing and healthcare to real estate, logistics and clean energy, as it seeks to expand its presence across Tanzania and the wider East and Central African region.

Speaking at the exhibition, the group's Business Development Manager, Juma Mnaro, said the annual trade fair provides an important platform to introduce the company's products and services to consumers, business partners and potential investors.

He said the group is exhibiting a broad range of locally manufactured products through its subsidiary Zen General Merchandise, including sunflower and palm cooking oils, household soap products and premium rice brands.

The company is also launching two new soap variants scented with lavender and lemon during this year's exhibition.

Mnaro said the group is also promoting environmentally friendly initiatives, including glass-bottled drinking water produced in Zanzibar and reusable non-woven shopping bags manufactured by one of its subsidiaries as part of efforts to reduce plastic waste.

Beyond consumer products, he said the company continues to expand into strategic sectors including industrial warehousing, real estate development, cement production, heavy diesel engineering services and regional freight transport linking Tanzania with Rwanda, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia and Malawi.

He added that Turkys Group is preparing to launch compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicle conversion services aimed at helping commercial vehicle operators reduce fuel costs while supporting cleaner transport.

The group is also showcasing its healthcare investments, including hospitals operating in Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam, as part of its strategy to diversify into essential services.

Mnaro encouraged visitors to the exhibition to explore the group's stand and learn more about its expanding range of products, services and investment opportunities across Tanzania.
