Coastal Union will step up preparations for the 2026/27 NBC Premier League season by relocating their preseason training camp to Rorya District in Mara Region from August 3, with two international friendly matches against Kenyan clubs also lined up.
The Tanga-based outfit is currently conducting the first phase of its preseason programme in Tanga, where players are undergoing fitness, tactical and technical training under the guidance of the club's coaching staff.
Club Information Officer Hussein Mchomvu said the move to Mara is designed to sharpen the team's competitiveness ahead of their opening league fixture against Mashujaa and ensure the squad reaches peak condition before the season kicks off.
"As things stand, we are continuing with the initial phase of our preparations in Tanga before relocating to Rorya in Mara Region on August 3 for the next stage of our preseason programme," Mchomvu said.
He said the camp in Rorya will include two international friendly matches against clubs from Kenya, providing the technical bench with an opportunity to assess the squad, test tactical systems and evaluate new combinations before the league begins.
According to Mchomvu, the change of training environment will also allow players to acclimatise to different playing conditions while strengthening team cohesion during the final stages of preseason.
Coastal Union are using the remaining weeks before the start of the new campaign to fine-tune the squad, with the club targeting a stronger showing in the 2026/27 season after an inconsistent performance in the previous campaign.
