Yanga SC has arrived in Zanzibar on June 22, 2026, to step up preparations for their upcoming NBC Premier League clash against Azam FC.

The team travelled to the Isles shortly after being eliminated from the CRDB Bank Federation Cup, shifting full attention to the league campaign where they remain firmly in the title race.

The highly anticipated encounter between Yanga SC and Azam FC is set for Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 10:00 pm at the New Amaan Complex in Zanzibar. The match is expected to draw significant attention as both sides push for vital points in the league standings.

Upon arrival, Yanga SC immediately held their first training session in Zanzibar as part of their build-up to the decisive fixture.

The technical bench focused on recovery work, tactical organization, and sharpening match readiness following their recent cup exit.

Yanga SC Head of Communication and Information, Ally Kamwe, described the match as a key test in their pursuit of the league title.

He called on fans, members, and supporters to turn out in large numbers at the New Amaan Complex to give the team strong backing.

He acknowledged the pressure in the title race but maintained that the team’s focus is to deliver strong performances in the remaining matches to keep their championship hopes alive.

Head coach Abdihamid Moallin said the squad has now fully turned its attention to the league after exiting the FA competition. He emphasized the importance of maximizing the limited preparation time available before facing Azam FC.

Moallin added that the players must remain disciplined and fully committed, stressing that there is no room for excuses as they aim to secure all three points in Zanzibar.

Yanga SC continues its push to make history by targeting a fifth consecutive NBC Premier League title, with rivals Simba SC maintaining strong pressure as the season reaches its decisive stage.
