Angola’s Ambassador to Tanzania, Mr Domingos De Almeida Da Silva Coelho, has expressed satisfaction with the level of preparedness for this year’s Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), praising organisers for the progress made ahead of the event’s opening later this week.

During a visit to the Sabasaba exhibition grounds on June 22, the ambassador toured several sections of the venue to assess ongoing preparations for the 49th edition of the annual trade exhibition, one of the region’s largest platforms for business promotion and investment.

A key highlight of the visit was the inspection of a special pavilion earmarked for Angola Day, an event that will be held during the fair to showcase Angola’s trade, investment and economic opportunities.

Speaking after the tour, Ambassador Coelho commended the Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TanTrade) for the quality of preparations and the organisation demonstrated at the exhibition grounds.

The envoy said Angola’s participation in the fair reflects the growing economic ties between the two countries and provides an opportunity for businesses from both sides to explore new areas of cooperation.

He noted that international trade exhibitions play an important role in connecting investors, manufacturers and entrepreneurs, while creating opportunities for knowledge exchange and cross-border partnerships.

The Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair, popularly known as Sabasaba, attracts exhibitors from across Africa and beyond, serving as a strategic platform for promoting trade, industrial development and investment.

This year’s exhibition is expected to bring together thousands of exhibitors, business leaders, policymakers and visitors from various countries, offering a venue for showcasing products, technologies and services while facilitating commercial partnerships.

Preparations at the grounds are in their final stages, with exhibitors continuing to set up displays and exhibition spaces ahead of the official opening.

The participation of Angola is expected to add an international dimension to the fair, highlighting opportunities for stronger business and investment cooperation between Tanzania and the Southern African nation.
