Gold prices in Tanzania continued to climb on May 7, 2026, with indicative buying centre prices reaching TZS349,054.34 per gram, according to figures released by the The Mining Commission.
The latest mineral price bulletin shows that the world market price for gold stood at USD4,721.90 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS396,652.66 per gram in the local market.
The commission also listed the mineral market price for gold at TZS356,987.39 per gram, reflecting continued strong demand in the global precious metals market.
The increase in gold prices is expected to benefit small-scale miners, traders and exporters across Tanzania, where gold remains among the country’s top foreign exchange earners.
Meanwhile, silver prices also remained stable in the latest trading update. The world market price for silver was quoted at USD77.94 per troy ounce, translating to TZS6,547.18 per gram. The buying centre price was recorded at TZS5,761.51 per gram.
Copper prices were also included in the daily indicative report. The world market price stood at USD6.12 per pound, while the buying centre price in Tanzania reached TZS31.02 per gram.
The Mining Commission releases indicative mineral prices regularly to guide traders, miners and dealers in the country’s mining sector.
