Mwanza Regional Commissioner Said Mtanda has held high-level talks with Deputy Minister for Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups, Eng. Maryprisca Mahundi (MP), aimed at strengthening the delivery of social development programmes across the region.
The discussions, held at the Regional Commissioner’s office, focused on practical measures to improve community welfare, with priority given to women’s economic empowerment, the protection and advancement of special groups, and increased public participation in implementing government policies and development plans.
Mr Mtanda praised the ministry’s ongoing efforts to promote inclusive growth, noting that coordinated action between central government and regional authorities is key to ensuring social interventions translate into tangible benefits for citizens.
Ms Mahundi reiterated the government’s commitment to close collaboration with regional administrations and local government authorities to enhance the efficiency and reach of social services, particularly at grassroots level.
She said the government remains determined to ensure development programmes are implemented in a way that leaves no group behind, in line with national policy objectives.
The Deputy Minister has since begun an official working visit to Ilemela and Nyamagana districts, where she is inspecting development projects and holding discussions with residents and local leaders to assess progress and challenges in the implementation of community development initiatives.
