Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr Mwigulu Nchemba, has approved the construction of the Bunju B Daladala Terminal in Mabwepande Ward, Kinondoni District, Dar es Salaam Region, at a cost of TZS 2.3 billion, in a move expected to strengthen transport services and stimulate local economic activity.

Dr Nchemba announced the decision today during his visit to Bunju B, where he toured the Bunju B Market and held discussions with residents and traders on key development challenges facing the area.

He said the government had carefully considered the proposal and would ensure that the required funding is made available to enable the project to be implemented without delay.

“I agree with you and I fully support the construction of this terminal because it will significantly boost business activities and improve the movement of people and goods in Bunju B,” said Dr Nchemba.

The Prime Minister noted that the daladala terminal will be developed as part of an integrated infrastructure plan, alongside improvements to roads, the market and commercial facilities, to create an orderly and business-friendly environment.

He stressed that such an approach is essential for increasing productivity, raising individual incomes and contributing to national economic growth.

Dr Nchemba said the project reflects the government’s broader strategy under President Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan to strengthen urban infrastructure, support small and medium-sized businesses and improve the daily lives of wananchi through practical, people-centred development initiatives.

Once completed, the Bunju B Daladala Terminal is expected to ease congestion, improve public transport efficiency and serve thousands of commuters, traders and transport operators in the fast-growing Kinondoni area, while reinforcing Dar es Salaam’s efforts to promote sustainable and inclusive urban development.
