JKCI to build cutting-edge medical facility at Dar Group

The Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute (JKCI) is set to upgrade its services with the construction of a new, modern building at its branch at the Dar Group Hospital.

The project, expected to begin next year, aims to expand and improve the quality of medical care for citizens.

Speaking at an internal meeting with JKCI Dar Group Hospital staff, Executive Director fof JKCI, Dr. Peter Kisenge said the infrastructure upgrade will enable the hospital to provide better and more reliable services.

He asked staff to be innovative and submit various improvement proposals to ensure the branch becomes a model centre for medical services.

"You should work hard, provide quality services, be patient, and perform your duties professionally to achieve our intended success. The construction and success of this branch is our collective responsibility," Dr. Kisenge said.

For his part, JKCI Dar Group Hospital Director Dr. Tulizo Shemu said the branch has already begun initial improvement steps by renovating some areas to give the hospital a modern look.

"We have started by renovating the operating theatre, establishing VIP wards, renovating the conference room, and currently, we are continuing to renovate staff offices and the outpatient department (OPD)," Dr. Shemu said.

Some staff members welcomed the plan, saying it would increase productivity and simplify their daily work. Outpatient nurse Fatna Syedt said they currently serve many patients at once.

The new building will help reduce congestion and increase patient comfort as they will reach more people without delaying services.

Cardiac examination specialist Eliza Shuma said modern equipment will increase their efficiency.

"Sometimes we have to wait for a room to become available to continue with examinations. With new facilities, we will serve people faster, reduce work pressure, and provide better services."he added
