Tanzania’s Rural Energy Agency (REA) is selling modern cooking stoves at a subsidized price of TZS 6,200 at the ongoing 8th National Mining Technology Expo in Bombambili, Geita, sharply down from the pre-subsidy price of TZS 41,300.
The stoves use advanced technology to reduce carbon monoxide emissions, lowering health risks associated with traditional charcoal stoves.
REA is partnering with Geita Millennium Star Company Limited to distribute the stoves to local households, part of a wider initiative to expand access to clean and safe energy solutions in rural areas.
