Minister Kombo participates in commonwealth foreign Ministers Meeting in New York

Tanzania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, has taken part in the Commonwealth Foreign Ministers Meeting, held on the sidelines of the 80th United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The gathering brought together foreign ministers from Commonwealth countries to deliberate on pressing global issues, including international peace and security, climate change, economic growth, and enhanced diplomatic cooperation.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Kombo reaffirmed Tanzania’s commitment to strengthening ties with Commonwealth nations, addressing shared challenges, and promoting sustainable development, trade, and investment opportunities.

He also held bilateral talks with several foreign counterparts to discuss ways of deepening cooperation and exploring new avenues for partnership.

The meeting serves as a strategic platform for member states to coordinate their positions on key issues ahead of major United Nations debates, while fostering political and economic collaboration across the Commonwealth.
