Ousmane Dembele of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has been crowned the 2025 Ballon d’Or winner, edging out Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal in a closely contested race.
The annual awards ceremony, held in Paris, celebrated the world’s finest football talent across multiple categories.
Dembele’s exceptional 2024/2025 season proved decisive. He scored 35 goals in 53 appearances across all competitions and provided 14 assists, playing a key role in PSG’s trophy-laden campaign.
The club secured four major titles, including three domestic trophies in France and the UEFA Champions League. 
Notably, Dembele also scored a decisive penalty in the 4-3 shootout victory that earned PSG the UEFA Super Cup earlier this year.
While Yamal fell short of the top prize, the Barcelona star was recognized as the Ballon d’Or Young Player of the Year for his remarkable breakthrough season.
The Golden Boot award went to Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres, who netted 54 goals in 52 matches for Sporting Lisbon last season.
Manchester City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma claimed the Best Goalkeeper award, and PSG was named the Best Men’s Team. PSG coach Luis Henrique earned the Men’s Coach of the Year accolade.
On the women’s side, Barcelona and Spain international Aitana Bonmati won the Ballon d’Or Women’s Best Player award for the third consecutive year, setting a new record in the women’s category.
The Women’s Young Player award went to Barcelona’s Vicky Lopez, while Arsenal Women were recognized as the Best Women’s Team.
England Women’s national team coach Sarina Wiegman received the Women’s Coach of the Year award, and Barcelona striker Ewa Pajor won the Women’s Golden Boot.
Chelsea goalkeeper Anna Hampton was named the 2025 Women’s Best Goalkeeper.
