Tanzania’s Business Registration and Licensing Agency (BRELA), in collaboration with the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO), has launched a competition for designers to create a special logo to mark ARIPO’s 50th anniversary.
The competition calls on local and international creatives to submit logos that reflect ARIPO’s history, mission, and achievements in promoting and protecting intellectual property rights across Africa and the world.
According to BRELA’s Public Relations and Communications Unit, entries must clearly represent the 50-year milestone, incorporate elements of African unity, innovation, and intellectual property protection, and be original and easily recognizable.
The logos should be submitted in full color as well as black-and-white digital formats, accompanied by a brief description of no more than 200 words explaining the design concept.
The winning designer will receive a prize of USD 1,000. ARIPO will retain full rights to use and adapt the winning logo for all purposes related to the 50th anniversary celebrations and other promotional activities.
Participants must ensure their designs are original and do not infringe on the intellectual property rights of others. Submissions should be sent via email to mail@aripo.org, with the subject line: “ARIPO 50th Anniversary Logo Competition.” The deadline for entries is September 30, 2025.
