ARUSHA: The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, Nkoba Mabula, has directed the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCAA) to develop new products to attract more tourists.

Mabula suggested that these products, which will be promoted at various international platforms, should be well researched and developed to meet international standards.

He issued the directive on Thursday during his visit to inspect NCAA’s infrastructure, including the main road from Loduare gate to Nabi, Empakani stream, Ngorongoro Crater, and campsites.

“President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan has already shown the way through the Royal Tour film, and the number of tourists is increasing. Let us continue to develop more tourist attractions to reach a target of five million tourists,” said Mabula.

In another development Mr. Mabula highlighted new tourism products which are expected to be launched in the country, including bicycle tourism in Olduvai, canoeing in Empakani, night game drives, and zipline tourism.

The Deputy Commissioner of NCAA (Conservation, Tourism, and Community Development), Victoria Shayo, stated that NCAA is improving tourism services and promoting tourism on various platforms both locally and internationally in collaboration with tourism stakeholders.

Commissioner for Tourism Services at NCAA, Ms. Mariam Kobelo, mentioned that the authority is improving infrastructure, providing training for staff, and creating a favorable environment for visitors.
