Minister for Minerals Anthony Mavunde is set to headline the fifth Local Content Compliance Forum (LCCF 2026), as the government steps up efforts to increase Tanzanian participation in the mining value chain.

The three-day forum, scheduled for July 22-24 at Malaika Beach Resort in Mwanza, will bring together mining companies, local suppliers, mineral traders, investors, government institutions and other stakeholders to discuss opportunities and challenges in implementing local content requirements.

Organised by the Mining Commission, the forum will provide a platform for stakeholders to share experiences, showcase business opportunities and discuss strategies to ensure more Tanzanians benefit from the country’s mineral wealth.

The discussions are expected to focus on strengthening partnerships between mining firms and local businesses, improving access to opportunities in the sector and enhancing compliance with local content regulations.

The mining sector remains one of Tanzania’s key economic drivers, with the government pushing for greater involvement of local companies and professionals in areas such as supply of goods and services, employment creation, technology transfer and investment.

The Mining Commission said the forum will feature expert presentations, panel discussions, training sessions and exhibitions aimed at equipping participants with knowledge and tools to participate effectively in the mining economy.

The event will begin at 8:00am each day, with the commission encouraging stakeholders to register early through lcforum.tumemadini.go.tz or contact the organisers via localcontent@tumemadini.go.tz and +255 763 714 026.

LCCF has become a key platform for advancing local content implementation, supporting the government’s agenda of ensuring that mineral resources contribute more significantly to economic growth and opportunities for Tanzanians.
