The Ministry of Energy has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening integrity, accountability and ethical conduct in the energy sector following a high-level working session held in Morogoro on February 3, 2026.
The session was officially opened by the Chairperson of the Integrity Committees of the Ministry of Energy and its institutions, who is also the Commissioner for Electricity and Renewable Energy, Mr. Innocent Luoga.
He said integrity and accountability are critical pillars for effective public service, especially in a sector that plays a central role in national development and citizens’ daily lives.
Mr. Luoga emphasized that integrity committees are responsible for promoting ethical behavior, transparency and professionalism among public servants, adding that strong institutional values contribute to improved efficiency, better service delivery and increased public trust.
Organized by the Ministry of Energy, the working session aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of public service ethics and administrative responsibilities, while also creating a platform for sharing experiences and best practices.
The discussions focused on strengthening workplace discipline, improving compliance with laws and regulations, and fostering a culture of responsibility across energy institutions.
The meeting brought together members of integrity committees from key institutions under the Ministry of Energy, including the Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO), the Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC), the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA), the Petroleum Upstream Regulatory Authority (PURA), the Petroleum Bulk Procurement Agency (PBPA) and the Rural Energy Agency (REA).
