President Samia swears in Patrobas Katambi as Home Affairs Minister

President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, today officially swore in Patrobas Katambi as the Minister of Home Affairs during a ceremony held at Chamwino State House in Dodoma.

Speaking at the event, President Samia highlighted the pivotal role of the Ministry in safeguarding national security, maintaining public order, and ensuring effective coordination across government institutions. 

She called on Minister Katambi to serve with integrity, dedication, and a strong commitment to the welfare of all Tanzanians.

“I urge the Minister to lead with transparency, uphold the rule of law, and strengthen public confidence in our security systems,” the President said.

Katambi, who has previously served in several leadership positions, expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and pledged to enhance internal security, improve public safety, and ensure efficient administration within the Ministry.

The ceremony was attended by senior government officials, diplomats, and top security officers, reflecting the strategic importance of the Ministry in Tanzania’s governance framework.

Minister Katambi’s appointment comes as the government continues to focus on enhancing law enforcement, promoting public safety, and reinforcing the country’s security architecture to foster social and economic development.
