Tanesco ushers in a transformational new chapter with 555 fresh recruits

Dodoma---The Tanzania Electric Supply Company (Tanesco) has taken a significant leap by offering permanent positions to 555 new employees simultaneously.

This large-scale recruitment, officially launched with an induction programme on 21 July 2025 at the Jakaya Kikwete Hall in Dodoma, reflects the organisation’s strategic commitment to investing in human capital and service excellence.

Gracing the launch as Guest of Honour was Dr Rhimo Nyansaho, Chairperson of Tanesco’s Board of Directors. His tone was equal parts proud and instructive. He didn’t merely welcome the recruits—he challenged them to rise to the occasion with diligence, integrity, and unwavering professionalism.

“This isn’t just a job — it’s a responsibility,” he told the newly appointed cohort. “Thanks to the leadership of President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, we were granted the go-ahead to carry out this mass recruitment. It’s now up to you to honor that trust with dedication and skill.”

Dr Nyansaho’s remarks went beyond formalities. He painted a broader picture of where Tanesco stands today—on the path of transformation, with enhanced service delivery and a sharpened focus on customer care.

“We have made notable strides in improving the quality of our services,” he said. “Your duty is not just to maintain that progress but to elevate it—treat every client encounter as a chance to represent the very best of who we are.”

This sense of responsibility was echoed by Tanesco’s Managing Director, Mr Lazaro Twange, who issued a rallying call to the recruits: become ambassadors of the organisation. His message was unambiguous—these new hires are not placeholders; they are changemakers.

“In your daily responsibilities, you will meet the people who rely on us—the clients whose lives are lit, quite literally, by the work we do,” Twange said. “Serve them with respect, humility, and purpose. Your actions shape our reputation.”

What makes this intake especially momentous is the journey behind it. Many of the new employees had previously worked with Tanesco on temporary contracts. Their transition to full-time roles doesn’t just signify job security—it marks a turning point in their professional lives. It’s a moment loaded with personal triumphs, institutional evolution, and national progress.

For the individuals involved, it’s the end of uncertainty and the beginning of something long-term, tangible, and stable. For Tanesco, it's a vote of confidence in the value of experienced, homegrown talent. And for Tanzania at large, it's a signal of the government’s readiness to enable growth not just through policy, but through people.

This is more than just a hiring spree. It is a human story of opportunity, trust, and the shared responsibility to electrify not only homes and industries, but also the spirit of public service.
