The management of Simba Sports Club has called on fans, members, and stakeholders to show their full support by filling up Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on June 15, when they face long-time rivals Yanga SC.
In a statement released by the club, Simba confirmed that all tickets originally purchased for the postponed March 8 fixture will remain valid and can be used for entry to the rescheduled match.
The club further urged those who have not yet purchased tickets to prepare to do so once an official announcement is made by the Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB).
“Let’s go and fill up Mkapa Stadium,” the statement reads. “The Premier League is made up of 16 clubs, not just one. Prior to each season, all 16 clubs are involved in meetings to recommend improvements to the rules and regulations, ensuring the development of our league. Therefore, anyone with concerns should follow the proper procedures.”he added
Simba also confirmed that match number 184 against Yanga SC will proceed as scheduled on June 15, 2025, in line with the league’s official fixture list.
In addition, the club has urged the League Board to publicly release the findings of the investigation into the disruption that led to the cancellation of the league match on the evening of March 7, 2025. They are calling for all those found responsible to be held accountable by the relevant authorities.
The club expressed concern that the ongoing delay in releasing the report, and failure to take disciplinary action, is encouraging unrest and protecting acts of football hooliganism which risks undermining the significant progress achieved in Tanzanian football.
