MNRT delivers digital services during public service week

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism (MNRT) of Tanzania, through its various departments and agencies, is providing digital services to the public during the ongoing Public Service Week exhibitions at Chinangali Park grounds in Dodoma.

Speaking about the Ministry's participation, the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Hassan Abbasi, stated that many of the services offered at the Ministry’s pavilion are being delivered digitally, as part of efforts to improve efficiency, transparency, and accountability.

“Our departments and agencies are well-prepared to serve citizens through digital technologies. People can access a wealth of information on conservation, tourism, and economic opportunities in the sector by simply scanning QR codes using their smartphones,” said Dr. Abbasi.

He explained that the drive to enhance digital services is aimed at meeting the expectations of modern-day tourists and is part of the outcomes of President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan’s efforts to promote Tanzania globally through films such as The Royal Tour and Amazing Tanzania.

In addition to digital services, the public is also being educated on beekeeping therapy, wildlife and forestry research, as well as economic opportunities in antiquities, forestry, beekeeping, and wildlife sectors.

Dr. Abbasi encouraged citizens to turn out in large numbers to receive services and gain knowledge at the MNRT pavilion.

The exhibition runs from June 16 to 23, 2025, under the theme: “Promote the Use of Digital Systems to Increase Access to Information and Foster Accountability.”
