The Tanzania Women’s National Futsal Team has officially departed for Morocco today, where they will compete in the Africa Futsal Cup of Nations (AFCON), set to kick off on April 22, 2025.
This prestigious tournament will feature some of Africa's best futsal teams, and Tanzania is determined to leave a mark on the international stage.
Tanzania has been drawn into Group C, alongside Madagascar and Senegal, with all eyes on securing a spot in the tournament’s final rounds.
The competition will be fierce, with only the top teams advancing, and Tanzania faces a challenging task against seasoned opponents.
Senegal, in particular, is known for its strength in futsal, making every match crucial for the Tanzanian squad.
Head Coach Curtis Reid expressed confidence in his team’s readiness for the challenge ahead. "We’ve had extensive preparations, and the team is in great shape.
The players have worked hard and shown incredible dedication throughout our training sessions. They are eager to prove themselves on this big stage," Reid said. While he acknowledges the tough competition, Reid remains optimistic about his team's potential.
