The Bagamoyo Special Economic Zone continues to attract major industrial investments, with Chinese company SINOVEST undertaking the construction of a textile manufacturing project worth US$10 million.

The investment focuses on the production of garments and textile products within the industrial zone, a move aimed at strengthening Tanzania’s textile value chain and enhancing the competitiveness of locally manufactured products in both domestic and international markets.

The project is expected to play a significant role in accelerating industrial growth by adding value to locally produced raw materials while reinforcing Tanzania’s position as a strategic manufacturing and trade hub in East and Central Africa.

In addition, the investment is set to create new opportunities for business partnerships, investment ventures, and collaboration between local and international investors, further boosting economic activity in the country.

Once completed, the factory is expected to generate more than 5,000 direct jobs for Tanzanians, contributing substantially to employment creation and income generation.

The project is also anticipated to facilitate technology transfer, enhance workforce skills development, and support the long-term sustainable growth of Tanzania’s industrial sector.

The latest investment highlights the growing confidence of foreign investors in Tanzania’s business environment and aligns with the government’s broader agenda of promoting industrialization, export growth, and economic transformation.
