The Director General of Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA), Mr Gilead Teri, met with globally renowned football legend and former England and Manchester United captain, Rio Ferdinand, to discuss Tanzania’s expanding investment opportunities and favourable business environment.
During the meeting, which was presided over by the Minister for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, Mr Paul Makonda, Mr Teri highlighted Tanzania’s strategic position as the gateway to East Africa through the Dar es Salaam Port, supported by a well-established transport and logistics network.
He also outlined the country’s vast investment potential across various sectors, including tourism, sports, real estate, manufacturing, and the blue economy.
Mr Teri further explained the important role played by TISEZA in facilitating investors through investment guidance, incentives, and streamlined services aimed at ensuring smooth and successful investment experiences.
In response, Rio Ferdinand thanked Tanzanians for the warm hospitality shown throughout his visit and pledged support for Tanzania’s football talents.
The meeting reflected Tanzania’s continued commitment to attracting global investors and strengthening international partnerships that contribute to sustainable economic development.
