Yas eases smartphone ownership with Easter promotion on ZTE devices

By Our Correspondent

In a move aimed at accelerating smartphone adoption and expanding access to digital services, Yas has unveiled a limited-time Easter promotion offering reduced prices on ZTE smartphones for customers across Tanzania.

The nine-day offer, which kicked off on 31 March and runs until 8 April, lowers the initial deposit for ZTE smartphones from TZS 45,000 to TZS 25,000.

Customers can then settle the balance through a daily payment of just TZS 950 over 12 months, making it easier for many to own a smartphone.

As part of the offer, customers will also receive 150MB of free data, enabling them to immediately experience Yas’s fastest network and digital services.

Speaking on the promotion, Imelda Edward, Yas Device Manager - Sales and Channels, said the initiative reflects the company’s continued commitment to bridging the digital divide in Tanzania.

“This Easter promotion goes beyond pricing. It is about empowering more Tanzanians to come online and fully participate in the digital economy. By lowering the initial deposit and offering flexible daily payments, we are removing barriers that have been limiting Tanzanians to access smartphones” she said.

She added that the campaign ties into Yas’s wider focus on delivering reliable, high-quality connectivity nationwide.

“We are proud to provide what has been recognised as the fastest network in Tanzania by Ookla for three consecutive times. With this promotion, we want to ensure that more Tanzanians will be able to experience the quality of our network for themselves through the ZTE devices.”

The Easter promotion is expected to drive increased smartphone penetration, particularly among first-time users, while supporting the growth of Tanzania’s digital ecosystem.

Customers are encouraged to visit Yas shops and authorized agents nationwide to take advantage of the limited-time offer before the promotion ends.
