Deputy Minister for Finance Laurent Luswetula has met with Ratish Kamania, Director of the MOTISUN Group, to discuss the role of private investment in supporting Tanzania’s economic growth, particularly through the production of construction materials needed for infrastructure development.

Mr Luswetula, who represented the Minister for Finance Khamis Mussa Omar, held the meeting at the Ministry of Finance sub-offices in Dar es Salaam.

The talks focused on how the private sector can contribute more strongly to the country’s economy through investment in industries that produce building materials used in roads, housing and other infrastructure projects.

Mr Luswetula said the government values the contribution of private investors in expanding industrial production and supporting the country’s development agenda.

He noted that strengthening cooperation between the government and private companies is essential for boosting economic growth and creating employment opportunities, especially for young people.

The deputy minister said the government will continue to improve the investment climate to attract more investors and encourage existing companies to expand their operations in Tanzania.

Mr Kamania said MOTISUN Group is committed to increasing its investment in the country, citing the growing demand for construction materials driven by infrastructure development.

He said the company’s expansion plans will help create jobs, provide opportunities for skills development among young people and strengthen the contribution of the industrial sector to national development.

Mr Kamania added that Tanzania remains an attractive destination for industrial investment, particularly as the government continues to promote policies that support private sector growth.

The meeting underscored the importance of stronger partnerships between the government and private investors in accelerating industrial development and supporting Tanzania’s long-term economic transformation.
