Minister of State in the President’s Office for Special Duties, Palamagamba Kabudi, has taken part in the celebrations of Commonwealth Day held in London, United Kingdom, bringing together representatives from 56 member states of the Commonwealth of Nations.
The event featured a series of activities, including a flag-raising ceremony at the UK Parliament, the laying of a wreath at the Commonwealth Memorial Gates and a multi-faith service held at Westminster Abbey.
This year’s celebrations were held under the theme “Together We Thrive: Unlocking Opportunity for a Prosperous Commonwealth,” which focuses on promoting diplomacy, cultural exchange and stronger cooperation among member states.
The ceremony brought together ministers, diplomats, international leaders and development partners who reflected on the Commonwealth’s long-standing partnership and the importance of collaboration in advancing sustainable development.
Tanzania’s participation in the event highlights the country’s commitment to strengthening international cooperation and engagement within the Commonwealth, while also promoting its voice and interests on global platforms.
