Parliamentary committee commends Tanzanian key agencies for enhancing business and public services

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Industry, Trade, Agriculture, and Livestock has praised key government agencies for strengthening public service delivery, highlighting their role in promoting business growth and economic development.

During a session in Dodoma, Committee Chair Deodatus Mwanyika commended the National Development Corporation (NDC), Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS), Business Registrations and Licensing Agency (BRELA), and the Tanzania Industrial Research and Development Organization (TIRDO). 

“These institutions have made significant strides in delivering services efficiently to citizens and businesses alike,” Mwanyika said. “I urge them to maintain this momentum and continue providing quality services while educating the public to enhance competitiveness in industry and trade.”

Committee members also proposed strategies to address operational challenges, improve institutional efficiency, and ensure that strategic development projects are executed effectively.

Minister of Industry and Trade Judith Kapinga, accompanied by Deputy Minister Dennis Londo, assured the committee that all recommendations would be implemented. 


“Our ministry is committed to supporting these agencies to deliver measurable results that drive industrial growth and benefit the broader economy,” Kapinga said.

NDC Managing Director Dr. Nicolaus Shombe highlighted progress in strategic project management, industrial cluster development, and operations at the insecticide and organic fertilizer plants. 

Similarly, BRELA Director-General Godfrey Nyaisa, TBS Director-General Dr. Ashura Katunzi, and TIRDO Acting Director-General Engineer Ramson Mwilangali emphasized their agencies’ commitment to providing accessible and efficient services, reinforcing their critical role in national economic development.
